So I am 13 months away from my wedding and I think it is time that Fiance and I start putting STD’s (lol the jargon still makes me blush) together. Here’s where I am confused; I don’t know if we should make them ourselves through like kinkos or order them.
He’s a graphic designer and is very qualified to design it himself, but we just don’t know where to go to do it. I love love loved one on minted.com, but their prices were a little outrageous. I can’t justify spending $600 on 200 STD’s. We can afford it, but I just don’t think it’s worth spending.
Any bee’s have advice?! Know of a place to print that won’t charge an arm or a leg? Or a more affordable website that isn’t so outrageously expensive and isn’t poor quality? Any help is appreciated!

@CestTresJolie14: I used Vistaprint for our entire set of wedding stationery and had a great experience. You have the option to upload your own designs, and the prices are tough to beat. There are often Groupon/LivingSocial deals that reduce the cost even more. Good luck!

I got my invitations printed through catprint.com, they were easy to work with and they came out really nice.

@HisMoon: Thank you thank you! I was thinking them, too. I’ll have to tell my Fiance to check them out. Everyone I know has a good experience with them.
@MeiFrancis: Never heard of them, but will definitely check them out! Thank you.

@CestTresJolie14: If you don’t mind printing them on photopaper, Costco is suuuuuper cheap. I was considering having them print out our custom image file onto their photopaper and mounting them onto colored cardstock. I wanna say it’s like $0.25 per print, and that includes a really nice, thick, lined envelope.
If quality paper is important to you, I’d check out vistaprint, zazzle, and weddingpaperdivas. The first 2 websites do frequent sales/coupon codes.

@fzesguer: Hmmm this might not be such a bad idea. I wonder if they do matte paper? I don’t like the idea of shiny picture paper. I’ll have to talk to Fiance.

@CestTresJolie14: I think they can print it on matte photopaper, but I’m not sure. You should visit one near you to see their paper and envelopes

We used Vistaprint with the Groupon deal. No complaints!

I’m designing ours myself, and I plan on having them printed at Vistaprint, because we’re doing postcards (cheaper materials cost and cheaper postage!)
If you’re doing cards, I’d consider having it printed at Kinko’s or someplace similar if I could, but purchase folding card paper and envelopes myself. I’d check and see if they can print on my materials before I brought them in.

I ordered mine but if I knew someone like your Fiance, who’s a graphic designer, then I’d go for that!
I got our save the dates through Wedding Paper Divas and I’m extremely happy with how they turned out. 70 STD postcards with photos were $105 full price but they almost always have specials, usuallly 10-30% off with the coupon code.
