I think the map is a fun and original idea – definitely a standout against the typical card or magnet. I say go for it!

Also…have you checked out http://www.pantomimepapers.com ? She used to be an actual Bee on here, and now has her own business. I love her work, be sure to check her out.

I LOVE hand-drawn maps.  We included one in our invitation suite and we got SO many amazing comments about what a great idea it was.  My step-mom drew it for us.  I know there are a lot of great sites out there for maps (check out etsy).

Yes, we used a scanner.  It worked really well.  And then I just sent it to the printer along with the reply card design and they printed them on matching paper.  I think they turned out really well. [attachment=663708,86387] [attachment=663708,86388]

I’ve been meaning to start doing research into the lovely map sites out there, these are great. Any other recommendations, besides just trolling through etsy?

If you send the map with the invite, it won’t get lost or tossed out. It has the potential to get lost or forgotten when sent with a save the date.

There are lots of Etsy vendors that do maps, I almost hired one for my invites.
