What do you ladies think of my save the date mock up? The photo doesn’t really show it well, but the calendar on the left has 12 months attached by a gold brad – “august” says save the date with the 27th circled in orange. I attached a 4×6 magnet sheet to the back of this – so people can hang it on the fridge.
I think it’s cute, but over all I’m really not feeling it. I want to scrap the whole idea and just go with stamped vintage VT postcards (which I already have) thoughts???
as a reminder – this is my invitation design:

I think it’s cuter than any vintage postcard! I can’t believe you DIY’d that–fantastic job! If you don’t like it, I suppose you could go the postcard route, but I really think it’s adorable.

That is nicer than any other save the date I’ve received. It matches your invitation perfectly. What is it thats bothering you about it?

yea, overall the STD feels like its missin something…. in my opinion, on thing that stands out for me is that the words seem too close to the edges…and compared to how light the font is on the calendar, it seems unbalanced…..also, fyi, your lantern with the 8 in it is missing its hanging string….
ETA: i do like it better than a postcard idea tho…

I would seriously buy this. Adorable.

it’s really cute! i like it better than a postcard!
my only concerns would be: does the magnet hold it up? there’s a lot of paper because of the calendar so you should check it doesn’t just slide down the fridge.
also, will the calendar fall apart as people rip off each month? i would test that too…maybe 2 brads would help if there’s a problem.

I already corrected the missing lantern string. I can cut less of the sids off of the actually STD language – and move the calendar over a bit so it’s not so cramped.
The magnet definitely holds.
You can rip the calendar month off without the brad coming loose, but it’s a bit of a pain. I was thinking about scoring the calendar so it would tear easier. I think using two brads would indeed look better – it’s just so much damn work – I have to do 120 of these puppies! ooy.
My worries about it (as with any of my DIY projects) is that they may look too juvenile, or well not good enough… I think it’s just a crafting confidence thing…

i really like it, great job:)

Your cards and calendars definitely DO NOT look juvenile.
They are gorgeous and adorable!

I really like it! I can’t believe you DIY’d that. Amazing!

WOW that is an awesome save the date and it totally matches your invitation! I can’t believe you DIY’ed it, definitely not juvenile. My only concern would be how long it takes you to make each of them especially when you have to send 120. Maybe instead of doing a full calendar just do August with your date circled?

I think everything looks super impressive! Don’t worry about it looking juvenile – it looks really amazing.

I love it. My suggestions is to only include the calendar for August and yes, teh type is too close to the edge. Also I’d only put your names in script. I’d make Save the Date and Vermont stand out in color only. Play with the font (weight and scale) a little more.
