Why would it be confusing? Every photo save the date that we have shows the couple in another place/season. People would never guess our e-pic was taken right near our venue in the same season. Out of the Save-The-Date Cards on our fridge– I have a couple skiing for a July wedding, a couple on the beach for a Buffalo winner wedding, and a Disney pic for a church wedding. I say it would be perfect!

My only concern is that you are getting married in July– if you get e-pics done in February and back in March, it is probably too late for a save the date (our invites are going out in April). I say you should take the pics and use them for a website, but save all of the money and don’t do a save the date!

You have nothing to worry about but if you really want to make sure you can always put details TBA or destination TBD or something like that. I would just use a photo from HA that doesn’t have a palm tree in the background then.

I think it’s fine. So long as the save the date says the wedding is going to be in Boston, then there shouldn’t be any confusion! Have fun!

@LucyLaLa:  My computer hit sumbit before I was ready and I was editing as you typed. The save the dates I have seen always has a city in it– so even if you have palm trees in the picture, the message says “Save the date for the wedding of Lucy and Mr. Lucy. July 6, 2013, Boston, MA”

Go for it!  My friends send out a save the date from their trip to San Diego.  The wedding was in CT.  No one thought twice about it!

DO IT!!! Definitely don’t miss the opportunity to get fabulous shots of you with a real-life spectacular backdrop. As long as your invitations say “Bride & Groom, 2013, Location Here” nobody will get confused. Enjoy your trip, even though it’ll be short. I’ve never been to Hawaii but I’ve heard it’s wonderful.
