We sent postcards. They looked great and people loved them. No one will throw them out.

We almost went with just sending the postcard, but my mom made the point you made about people throwing them out by mistake as well as mentioned how the postcard could get damaged. We ended up going with a flat card and envelope. It was only like $10-20 extra to go that route and I felt like it was a better decision for what I wanted.

Our postcards got pretty beat up in the mail and the barcode sticker covered our wedding website on some. No one threw theirs away and it turned out fine but you have valid concerns.

We sent postcards and as far as I know they worked out great. Super affordable and everyone we sent them to saved our date! It wasn’t important to me, however, they they arrive in pristine condition, as I knew that they would get a little banged up in the mail. The ones I saw on the refrigerators of friends and family looked presentable, though!

We sent postcards. I saw many of them hung on people’s refrigerators, and no one threw them away. Ours were linen postcards (5×7) and they got to everyone in good condition.

I like when a postcard isn’t in pristine condition.  It shows that it has been on a journey to get to me.  But I’ve always loved postcards, so there’s that.

Just from experience. People will save them and put them on the fridge. Then will throw them away after.

We went with postcards, also wth no picture. Everyone LOVED them and they were proudly hung on fridges, until the event, and then I am sure they were trashed. lol

jackie86:  No one threw ours out intentionally, but some people lost them in moves.  They did get a little beat up/dirty in transit, and all of them had stickers, though the postal workers seemed to try pretty hard to avoid covering the date part, from what I’ve seen of the ones people received.

This is what ours looked like on the “art” side.  I don’t have any pictures of the ones that were mailed out.
