I just sent mine out last week. We got a few hits on the website and some of my close friends texted me or messaged me on Facebook. Most people did nothing and I guess I’m a little disappointed, but I shouldn’t have expected for everyone to be as excited about them as me haha. I figure more people will visit the website once it gets closer to the wedding. My first guest book post on the site got me really excited though! Don’t worry, people appreciate all the hard work put into the Save-The-Date Cards I’m sure. FI’s parents got a few confused phone calls from older relatives who thought this was an invitation and didn’t know how to RSVP haha

I was actually talking this same point over with a friend, and he pointed out that a lot of people are probably not going to use the website. Our guest list is pretty tech-savvy, so I guess it’s the difference between clicking to a website in an email and taking the time to type in a URL off a card.

I was a little annoyed for a minute over that, because I spent a lot of time, but whatever, it’s cool. πŸ™‚

We also had people who thought our save the date was the invite, though.. got some FB/email message RSVPs. So at least I know people are putting it on their calendar πŸ˜‰

We are date twins!  I think my wedding website has been looked at over 1,000 times, but it is probably just me and my Future Mother-In-Law driving up those numbers.

People definitely got the save the dates and we got great feedback on them.

By the way, when are you planning to send out your wedding invites?  Just asking, because I just put mine in the mail on Friday.  We have an rsvp date of March 1 and wanted to make sure people had at least six weeks to rsvp.

I sent mine out with my Christmas cards and got one phone call about them. I put a sh*t ton of effort into them and feel exactly the same, like my efforts went unnoticed.

It definately has made me scale down the ideas for the invites. blah.

I got quite a few calls/texts from friends, but I can’t say I tracked hits on our wedding website. I think most people don’t go to wedding websites till much closer to the wedding.

When we sent ours out, we only got about 15 hits on the website out of approxiamately 60 save-the-dates that we sent.  I wasn’t disappointed though since honestly, I didn’t have any expectation of people really calling or taking any action.  I’ve received save-the-dates for four other weddings in the past year and have never called or texted or anything.  If the couple is someone I’m particularly close to then they’ve already told me the date weeks before I got the card and I’ve already told them “congrats” about 20 times. If I’m not that close, I figured I’ll just see them at the wedding and send my well wishes then.

Most people thought it was an invitation! LOL I have to say that most of my family are not quite familiar with Save-The-Date Cards either… But everyone loved the calligraphy πŸ™‚

To be honest with you, as a guest, I almost never notice the wedding website on the Save-The-Date Cards. And if I do, I’m not running to my computer to check it out. I know it seems terrible, but no one is ever as excited about your wedding as you are. So try not to take offense.

If you wait to send out your wedding invitation on February 14, your guests will only have two weeks to rsvp!  I’d probably try to get them out sooner if you can.

@gemini2loveme:  I really think that many more guests will check out your website once the date is a little closer. We got several compliments about our site in the weeks leading up, when people were really checking it out for directions and location information, registries, etc. πŸ™‚
