With holiday card swap that was just announced, I was wondering what you all think about a “Save the Date” Swap.
I don’t know about you all but I have a handful ton of save the dates that are left over that are just collecting dust.
What do you all think about it?
If we were to do this, it would probably be setup this summer. I figure with the holiday swap going on now, then in February, we are probably going to do the Valentines day swap. The best time would be the summer.
Why Save the Dates?
-my STD have less information on them then my invitations. There’s no address of my venue on it, just the city. If you wanted, you could scratch out your name. (Also, you can’t wedding crash my wedding because it has already happened. haha)
-I love getting mail.
-Get’s us to see everyone creativity. Great for brides-to-be so that they can get some ideas.
-If anyone is still deciding on whether or not the quality is good at “Printing company ABC”, this could give us a real sample. (Not only good for just weddings but holiday cards, birth announcements, etc.)
So what do you think?

That sounds like a fun idea, but I don’t think I’ll have more than one or two left over.

i would totall do it. i have 27 left over, and my std’s only have our first names and our city on it. my stds also turned out pretty stinking cute if i do say so myself, and might give some good ideas to the ladies out there who are looking to make some.

I have an entire box of 150 left over because the bleed wasn’t right (my fault). Moo.com replaced the box with the correction at absolutely no charge to us, not even for shipping. They were great! So yeah, I would probably do this.

I like the idea! I have almost 40 leftover and no idea what to do with them.

@theresa1078: I actually went through the same thing. One of my logos printed wrong, so they fixed the problem and sent me another 150 post cards. I’m using the messed up ones as scrap paper. haha.
Plus, I bought 150 STD because my Darling Husband has a big family. Unfortunately, my Mother-In-Law was giving us a lot of trouble with who should get Save-The-Date Cards. So I ended up not sending any to my husbands side of the family. (annoyed me a bit) So yeah, I have about 100 left.

I wonder if I should set this up and for the next few months let people join and when summer comes Swap-bot will send out our swap partners.
How many swap partners should we have? (I.E. How many people do you think we should each be able to send our Save-The-Date Cards to?) 3… 4… 5 or more?

Ohh! This sounds fun! I have a bunch of STD’s left too!

I have tons of STD’s left over (from both of our dates). I think it might be something fun to do. Maybe we could add in some fun facts about ourselves or photos of something interesting in our weddings or hometowns.
@Beluga – do you have a good picture of your STD? You could use that.
