Hi all, quick question- it seems every guide or planning book I’ve come across has a different formula for calculating when to send save the dates.
Our wedding will be small and in October I thought sending save the dates in April is fine, but I’ve read anywhere from this week to Mid June???
Anyone have a solid understanding- thanks!

@PugsandUnicorns: Save the dates are usually sent 6-9 months in advance, maybe more if its a desitination wedding or on a holiday weekend.

a year to 9 months in advance is the normal for most of my wedding clients.

sounds like we should get them out asap.

@PugsandUnicorns: My wedding is a week before yours and I just put my Save-the-Dates in the mail yesterday. I plan on sending the invitations in early August, and with that being five months away, figured I may as well get the STD’s out now. Otherwise, the two would be sent so close in time to one another that it’d be kind of pointless, I think.

We know all of our guests have to travel to our wedding so we are doing 8mo-1yr before the wedding depending on when they are finished being designed and if we have postage money.

we get ours April 2nd so it’s pushing it but once done they’l be worth it. 🙂
