Are you registered on theknot?  After I registered there, I got the craziest things in the mail. I deleted my account with them and the mail stopped.

@claireos: I registered with them and got so much crap in the mail/email that it was incredible. Most of it was for places in my town or ones neighboring it, though, so if the coupon was for far away, it might not have been from them.

Oh yup, SoyJoy is right.  Most of my stuff came from within the state.  Hopefully you’ll figure it out!

I’m wondering the same thing as @claireos — I don’t want to get a ton of junk mail, but if there are coupons/money savers then maybe I’ll leave my account after all…

Mine wasn’t worth it, but I live in Alabama so there is very few options for venues and all of the venues I used were small mom & pop type places who wouldn’t take the coupons.  My surrounding area is just too small to make it worth it.  I would have to travel 3 hours at least to even investigate if any of the coupons would be worth it.  So I guess it depends on your area.

I get baby stuff all the time in the mail.  I am 40, son is 18, and we are well out of the wanting kids stage.  I signed up for some free samples for a costumer like 10 years ago and I am still getting them.  My friends are still getting things from DB years after they were bridesmaids for some wedding.

Man, the information sellers are the WORST! I swear at least 20% of the profits of the wedding industry must be from selling lists, not actually selling goods.

I use fake info most places I register – even shops. If I decide to buy from them, I’ll correct it. I HIGHLY recommend getting a Google Voice number.

This is why we’ve created an email address dedicated to the wedding. Less wedding spam mail!
