I feel so silly!!!
I was totally how many save the dates i would need using my guest count, which is 80.
But silly me not every guest gets an individual save the date. So now I have 40 extra save the dates -_-
Luckily I caught it before I ordered invitations.
Anyone else ever do a silly oops liek this? are there any other silly oops I shoudl watch out for??

@youknowlmoe: opps lol, well at least you have some extras incase you make mistakes writing them. I had to order a minimum with the company I used so have extras also. Plus I guess if more people decline early on you could choose to send to others if you wanted too?

@youknowlmoe: i think I nearly did the same thing, I remember thinking I needed as many as I had guests, cant remember if it was Fiance or the designer who told me. Better than doing it for invites as they are usally dearer.

Yep. Totally did this! We ended up with like 80 extra invites. Luckily they were from vistaprint and not like $3 a piece.

My friend did this and has a ton leftover too. I made it so I’d have a few extras (one for our fridge, one for our album, an extra so my grandma will get her own to keep, and then we have extras we can give to our siblings if they want their own too).

I definitely did that with my Save-The-Date Cards. I have probably 80 extra (if not more). Though, my excuse is that I ordered them from Vistaprint and my options were 50, 150, or 250. I have a 300 person guest list so I figured I’d need just over 150 so I ordered 250. Turns out I could have gotten by with 150… good thing I used a groupon!

Hahaha, at least you caught it! When I ordered my Save the Dates, I was so excited…and ended up ordering 200 of them when all I needed was 100…I have a huge pile at home!

Better than us….I have about 150 extra! But that’s because we did ours through Staples and I had a coupon that made 250 full color postcards $19.99……for 100 without the coupon it was $25! Soooo…….we have lots.

Well, at least it’s a whoops that only you know about! I clicked on this figuring that you were going to say you put the wrong date or something like that. 🙂
I think I have this issue resolved because of the way I have structured the form that I’m using for a guest list. It’s just a spreadsheet, but I put the “primary” name of a family in the first column followed on the same row with other family names. Just to keep it clear for numbers, I also have a total count of the family. In other words, it looks a little like this:
John Doe – Jane, Joey, Junior – 4 – Address
Then, at the bottom of the columns, I can set the third one to add up for a total number invited guests while I can use the spreadsheet’s row numbers to know how many pieces of mail to order. I use the same list for Christmas cards, so it was tested out this last holiday season and worked well.

When I was making the programs, bride-brain caused me to forget that one of the pages had four program pages on it instead of two. So I printed twice as many as I needed … in full color … on cardstock … that I didn’t have any extra of. And I killed my ink cartridge.
I was not a happy camper! Haha curse you, bride-brain!

I did this too, LOL! I had like 60 extras 😛
I used a paper punch to punch out part of it and put little magnets on the back. At least they didn’t completely go to waste!
