We sent them to all of our guests.  But if you are trying to save money, then I think you could get away with just sending them to out of town guests since they will need to plan a trip to be able to come.

we sent them to all our guests–but i sent them all via email!  I designed my save the date and instead of printing it on a postcard I made an HTML email.

I can see where the cost factor would come in, but if you have guests that would communicate with each other, you wouldn’t want people thinking they’re not invited to the wedding because they didn’t get a save the date.

Since our wedding isn’t until ’11 I wasn’t too worried about Save the Dates…but then realized that almost everyone was from out of town (I live in TX, but am orignially from Vegas, where it’s going to be held)

So I’ve been looking and looking for a STD that I loved and like the OP, couldn’t find anything that just struck me…so I took matters into my own hands and hired a designer…

She is ABSOLUTELY fabulous to work with, if you’d like her contact info, message me.

I am BEYOND thrilled with the STD that she came up with!!

I think you could get away with just sending them to your out of town guests….you could also do an e-mail version to the intowners too!
