Ours don’t really match, either. I think it’s okay to vary a little!

We sent ours out during Christmas time as Holiday Cards / Save-The-Date Cards…..so no, our June wedding will not have the same Christmas theme.

No, I gave my mom the task of invitations… since all of her friends will see them. And I honestly don’t care about them. But Save-the-Dates are all MINE! I’m not even asking my fiance his opinion (ok maybe). I have a feeling my save-the-dates will be more modern than my invitations… my mom is so formal. But I don’t care 🙂

I haven’t even thought about invitations yet. But I’m gonna go out on a limb and say no, they will not be similar in style.  Maybe they’ll have some of the same colors though.

I hope mine will have the same theme (fall leaves) and colours as my save the dates, but more formal.

Just finished my save the dates!!  AND the card that goes with them.  I have to say, I’m very proud of myself for buckling down and getting them down.  Thank you mid-week Snow day!

Nope! Our Save the Dates are charicatures of us so they are cute and whimsical, but our invitations are going to be more elegant to convey seriousness and the theme better.

I wanted all of my wedding stationery to match: Save-The-Date Cards, thank you cards, invites, programs, everything.

So yes they did match and it was very intentional.

We had a friend of FIs who is a graphic designer make the designs for each one and we are printing using Vistaprint…so its been very affordable! They aren’t all EXACTLY the same…but they all use the same overall theme, colors, design, etc.

No!  I see save the dates as an opportunity to send something fun and cute and not too serious.  So our save the dates will have nothing to do with our invites.  I consider the save the date the cheerleader of the wedding.  But that could be the type of couple we are – crazy!  Tongue out

Totally different.  I made our Save-The-Date Cards on zazzle using a pic I took last summer (uploaded here for good measure). Our invites are being designed for me by a friend and while they’ll probably be somewhat whimsical in nature, they won’t have anything to do with the shoe pic on the STD.

I’m in love with ours- I designed them and printed them on Vistprint.  We are getting married Oct. 30, and we sent them out earlier this week:

Mine are different. My Save the Dates were more whimiscal and the invitations are more elegant.

I have been wondering about this same thing.

My wedding planner explained to me that the STD don’t have to match the invitation and often do not but the perfectionist inside of me feels funny about matching. Luckily we found a company that is making both to match my taste and design, and the STD will match the invitations.

In the real world they don’t have to match and I’ve seen many weddings with mismatched STD and invites. I’m just wierd I guess.
