My friend did magnets for her STD. It’s on our fridge but we never look at it and it is only there to hold up something else. Not necessary.

I got magnets for my save the dates and everyone loved them! I got messages from so many people saying how sweet they thought they were. And when visiting those who live in town, I could see they had put it on the fridge. I definitely recommend getting those – they are quite expensive though. But IMO, worth it 🙂

@Girasole:  We did magnets. Everyone loves them! My friends kept sending me pics of the magnet on their fridge! We used magnetstreet.com and it was about $180 for 150 magnets and it included the envelopes, which had a pretty silver lining! Here’s a pic of ours 🙂

I think you can’t go wrong with magnets OR a postcard.  I know most of our friends & family have our STD postcard on their fridge.  We did postcards at overnightprints.com and they were quite inexpensive – $38 for 100.

@Girasole:  The save the date puppies sound fun to me!  Seriously though, I’d say just go with the postcard.  Magnets are extra postage and not necessary.

@Girasole:  We didn’t have to pay any extra postage for our magnets either. We put one forever stamp on the envelope and they were good to go. The only ones that required extra postage were the two going out of the country.

We’re doing magnets and with the groupon for vistaprint they came out to be $40 for 200 w/ envelopes! I think magnets are worth it since postcards tend to get thrown away or not looked at.

@Girasole:  I would definitely get magnets then since you can easily get 100 for around the $70. They have so many cute designs, I had to narrow it down to 3 then ask for help deciding from the Bees!

Magnets don’t stick to stainless steel. With that being all the appliance rage, they might be a very expensive but cool STD that 50% of people can’t use.

I already have magnets on my fridge that I use to hold up save the dates. I assume other folks do, too. That’s a big price difference for just the magnet part, so I’d definitely just go paper. You can make them postcards and even save on postage!

We did magnets – and I love getting magnet Save-The-Date Cards.  paper ones get thrown in a drawer, but the magnets get thrown up on the fridge!
