I sent StDs to out-of-town guests 9 months before the wedding. There were already people who had to decline based on that, because they’d made other holiday plans, which clashed, that very week. I was really sad about that. 

I vote to send them out as soon as you know the date. I love to buy flights as early as possible to get a cheaper price, and to allocate annual leave. And I wish I’d sent mine out earlier because then those people might have been able to make it.

I live in Texas and most of my friends and some family are coming from Florida and Louisiana, so we’re sending them 6-7 months in advance. It’s during Thanksgiving weekend, so we won’t be surprised if a lot of people decline.

I did almost 10 months. We didn’t have that many out of town guests but it’s a holiday weekend so it seemed good to get them out a little early.
