If you have a printer at home you can print on your envelopes and adjust the font and format. Its really easy to do and it will look nice. My wedding was spur of the moment and small, only 15 people and everyone knew but I did save the dates over invitations and I printed and they looked wonderful!

I used labels!  I know a lot of people think this is tacky, but I really don’t think so.  We used black envelopes, so I couldn’t think of any other way.  Labels are cheap, easy and super easy for the post office to read.  Just use a nice font that matches your Save the Dates 🙂

I personally think it looks nicer than when someone just hand writes an address (not calligraphy).

I used labels on my Save The Dates (gasp!) but I printed a graphic on it along with the address and I cropped it to lob off the curved edges that the generic labels have. No one seemed to mind or even notice. I think it’s a little over the top if you do calligraphy on an STD! It’s supposed to be informal – I think it’s definatly ok.

I used labels. I bought envelopes and oval shaped labels from Paper Source in the same shade of blue for my Save the Dates and they turned out really nice. It saved me the trouble of having to pay someone to address them or bothering with trying to run the envelopes through the printer. My ceremony is pretty informal, we’re getting married on the beach in Jamaica with close friends and family, so it may just depend on the look you’re going for. I love how mine turned out and I would do it again, and probably will for the invitations.

*correction*, I used white labels on the front of the envelope and used blue for the return address

We used clear labels for our save the dates.

I know people don’t like labels but I used them for both the save the date and invitations.  I didn’t have the budget to pay someone to address them for me and I also didn’t have time to hand write all those invites (I have awful hand writing).  I used clear labels with a really nice font.  I thought they turned out really nice…

You can make really cute labels (Martha Stewart’s wrap around label is quite popular) so that the labels become more of a design element of the envelope!

I love this idea, but I’m personally practicing my calligraphy (and timing it!) on the Save-The-Date Cards so that I’ll be ready for my invites.
