- Wedding: December 2011
I could not find a save the date that I loved. After looking everywhere and even considering hiring a graphic designer for the save the date, I came to the realization that it’s JUST A SAVE THE DATE! These are simply to let people know the exact date of the wedding, give a little info, and that’s it! With everything in a wedding that there is to stress about, did I REALLY want to go crazy over a STD? No, absolutely not. I’ll save that craziness for other wedding planning activities.
Finally the FH and I decided to do something simple. Our theme is peacock, so we (we meaning I) decided to go in the same basic color scheme, but not go “peacock-y” since thats what the FORMAL invitation will be.
After looking at just a few sites, we went with weddingpaperdivas.com. We chose their”Romantic Rings” selection. It is a postcard format so that saved on me putting too much thought into an envelope color. We made almost no changes to the template. I decided it was simple and good enough as-is.
A week and a half later, VIOLA! They came in.
I am very happy with the end result. Simple, cute, and clean. The paper quality is very good, and they even made a spelling correction on something I mis-spelled (oopsies, I guess when I went stress-free with my STD i didn’t pay enough attention to detail). Everyone was happy with the outcome and i am glad i decided to go with something simple. Now when the elegant and elaborate formal invitations go out, everyone will be shocked and get a great feel for what to expect at the actual wedding.
