I wasn’t sure which category to post this in so I’m sorry!! Anyways fiancé doesn’t think we need to do engagement pictures which is fine, I could go either way.. Anyways since a lot of guests are coming from out of town I’d like to get save the date cards! I’ve only really seen save the date cards with pictures… Tacky? Acceptable? Whatever? I have no idea!! Thanks!!

mrsstewietobe: Okay that’s so weird. I was literally wondering about this like 10 minutes ago, because we haven’t done an engagement shoot either. haha. I would hope it’s okay, because I’m pretty sure that’s what we’re doing! o_O;

My save the dates didn’t include a photo. We ordered a design from photoaffections.com.

i did online save the dates, which did not include a photo. you don’t need to put a picture, just make sure you put your first and last names on the card, so people aren’t like, “jennifer and michael who?” lol. you could also just use a nice snapshot of the two of you if you want to include a photo, no need to do a full on photoshoot.

mrsstewietobe: I think photos on save the dates must be an american thing because it’s not common here in the uk – personally i think it’s a bit cringy! So don’t worry 🙂 will probably save you money too!

My save the dates had our baby pictures on it saying, “these kids are getting married”

We did magnet save the dates, and I thought it would be weird to have our faces on everyone’s refrigerators. These were ours:
We ordered them from Vistaprint for less than a dollar each or something like that.

Save he dates without pictures is more common than with, at least in America

We did little business cards with the details and just a little picture of the two of us. It might be just me but we were inviting some people we don’t see often and some people who had never met our FI”s so I wanted them to at least know what the other person looked like. It was just a photo the two of us liked, not a particular engagement shoot.

We didn’t do engagement photos and did save the dates. The idea of must-have professional photos for cards is an invention of the wedding industry.

This is what we did – no pictures for us (we are in the UK and I had never considered pics, maybe because we just don’t tend to do engagement shoots here).
Fiance made them by combining our family crests.

We didn’t do an engagement shoot and didnt have pictures on our save the dates (we’re in the U.S.)
we had a destination wedding so the Save-The-Date Cards looked like air mail envelopes
