@mikesBRIDE: I am thinking about going through Vista Print and using a post card. It can be full color with a picture. You can get a ton for a very low price,

I know you said you don’t want to make them, but I would maybe reconsider.  You can try to mock a design (heck, I can help you if you want!), and then print them at a local Kinkos or printing place.  Or, if you have time, continue to check Groupon or Vistaprint for deals…I got a purchase $10 and get $50 worth of product, plus 30% discount, at Vistaprint earlier this year.  Helped a ton.

I would consider doing a postcard (less postage price), as well too.

Good luck!

How many people are you inviting?!  I invited 150, which was basically 75 couples.  Do you really need that many?

I ordered a PDF through Etsy and had my cousin, who owns a printing company, print them for me. It ended up costing me $12. Obviously not everyone has a cousin who owns a print company, but Staples, Kinkos, etc. can print them for cheap!

Who says they have to cost a couple hundred dollars?!?  If they had I wouldn’t have sent them!

I designed mine and had a local printing company print them for under $20, plus they were post cards so postage was only $0.32/each!  I was definitely under the $50 mark.

@mikesBRIDE:  Agree with PP, VistaPrint is super cheap (never, ever pay full price; find promo codes and/or sign up for emails).  You can upload your picture and use it on VistaPrint, no problemo.

Also, @futuremrsmp has a good point.  You won’t be sending a STD to everyone, just one per address typically.  Does that lower your number needed?

I’d also recommend not sending Save-The-Date Cards to anyone even remotely questionable (i.e. coworkers, distant “friends”).  Once you send that STD you’re locked into inviting the person even if you move, change jobs, etc.

@mikesBRIDE:  The whole front of our postcard was a picture of us (with writing on top of the picture).

Vistaprint can be really expensive if you don’t have a coupon or discount code.  Sign up for their emails and keep checking back…sign up for Groupon too. 🙂

I forgot about the Etsy idea, but that is a really good one too!  You can have a professionl make a PDF for like $20 and then print how ever many you need.

I used Vistaprint with the $70 for $17 Groupon that’s almost always available.  I was able to order our save the dates and invitations from VP.  With the Groupon and another deal they had that week on the VP site I ended up only paying for shipping which was $9.95.  So for $27 I have 50 save the date postcards and 100 invitations with envelopes (even for the postcards?).
