- Wedding: November 2016
So my soon to be Fiance and I are both 19 and we are hoping to get married in November. (Too young? we don’t think so!)
I’m looking for any tips on saving money or earning a little extra cash on the side! I did set up a trial run budget last month and surprisingly stuck to it pretty well, so I revamped it for the month and am going to try to REALLY stick to it this month. I am currently self employed, I sell on Etsy and do pretty well for myself and also have a part time babysitting job.
Anyways, he recently moved from Tennessee to Maine (he’s living there for free) for a work opportunity that started out slow but is not in full swing and very busy so he wasn’t able to start saving up money until about a month ago! (When he lived in Tennessee he was giving pretty much all of his money to his parents as they had low income). I was doing decently financially up until I had to pay taxes this year, I was not prepared at all for how much I’d have to pay in, also around the time of taxes I was hit with a lot of unexpected expenses. (I also moved to Knoxville where my rent is a LOT higher than before) Since then I’ve been pretty much barely been able to scrape by each month.
Once we get married we will be able to rent an apartment and pay all bills for about exactly what I pay for just myself to live here, so combining our two incomes will help a lot and we’ll actually be able to save more money…also especially since we won’t have travel expenses every month from traveling back and forth to see each other.
