My Fiance and I decided that for Christmas since we are quite broke and trying to pay for a wedding etc. That we are not going to buy each other gifts to save money.
The only problem it killing me not do something, this is our first Christmas and his birthday is on Christmas!!! We are in a long distance relationship, and I was just there for Thanksgiving and he coming out for New Year’s but we are going to be apart for Christmas.
I don’t want to NOT do anything but I want to do something special, that won’t cost me hardly a thing. Something that appropriate.
I was just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for either Christmas or birthday ideas. I want to make it special, this our first Christmas even though we are apart. And it his birthday too!!!

Can you make something for him? Maybe bake a cake, make up a cd of his favourite songs, and maybe put what money you do have available to use towards something he really wants, or maybe something he could use. Also write a long letter for him to open on Christmas, about how much he means to you, how much you are looking forward to your life together, etc.

@Jacqui90: First of all I love how you spell your name! That is how I spell my nickname! 2nd thanks, I was thinking something like that, like letters for the 12 days before Christmas. Is that a silly idea?
It’s his birthday that really bothering me. He did something special for me on my birthday and I really wanted to get him something for his.

Hi OP 🙂
are you creative in any way?
i really like presents with photos.
i like the memory game / matching game for example… i did that a while back for my parents with lots and lots of family photos… they really love it.
– either have a ready made memo game printed with pics of the both of you
– or just print them out at cvs and glue them on the cards.
i also like home-made calenders with pictures.
you could make him a calender for 2014… either with pics of the two of you…and some nice comments… of just pics of you…
is he into any kind of stories? if so you could do a home-made audio book with your recording of the story.
I also like Jacqui’s idea about the letter. that’s definitly thoughtful and could turn out really cute.

@Jacquelinesc84: I made my husband a Christmas stocking, and I think it cost me around $5 in materials (felt, some embroidery thread, sequins and fleece fabric) and some beads that I had left over from making jewelry.
