And it was around 85% off!! It’s still a lot of money but holy cow it’s down from $24k to $4k. Pretty much perfect, I love the setting, it’s round cut, VS2, E, 0.7ct, GIA cert. I did mention it to SO, that I was sooo wanting to try it on. But he still wants it all to be a surprise. I can dream though 🙂

Holy goodness!! Why on EARTH was that ever $24,000!?! Are you sure that’s correct for that size stone? Unless the setting had like 3+ carats worth of diamonds in it or something, def doesn’t make sense. But congrats on finding a ring you love!!

I think this is one of those false sales. 24k for a .7 carat diamond seems over priced, 4k seems more about the right price. I went sapphire, but a friend of mine bought his wife a diamond about the same time I got engaged they got a .75 princess cut at jared with side stones totaling another carat for about 4500.

@ladyartichoke: i think the sale price is what it would normally sell for. the store must have inflated the regular price to make it look like an amazing deal. it’s not.
i can’t imagine anyone paying $24k for a .7 ct diamond ring, even if the diamond was ideal, D, IF.

You can get much better for 4k. Noone would pay 24k for that stone! I would stay far away from whatever store was having that “sale”.

I know it’s pricey, but it’s expensive where we live anyway (though I agree $24k is overpriced). It was a pave band, no idea what the total ct weight was.
@mypinkshoes: I agree it was artificially higher.
Went past the shop today and it’s been sold. Oh well.
