cassandra7 : 100% I was speaking in hyperbole and having a laugh. We definitely dont have a problem with alcohol, just acknowledging on weekends we tend to enjoy it too much. Cutting it out has not been an issue and it’s not something we are struggling with. I just really freaking like the taste of red wine and wanky IPAs haha.

Good luck! I did this for a while to try to lose weight (it didn’t work lol, but that’s because I love food and have always gotten most of my calories from food and very little from alcohol overall), but I went many months without a drink. It did not make me feel any different. The main benefit was never being hung over, but honestly I know my limits and if I stop at 2 drinks I simply don’t have this issue. Also, I typically don’t drink during the week, unless it’s some kind of event, or I’m on vacation, so I think that helps keep my number of drinks per week to a reasonable level. Recently, I’ve thought about stopping drinking while TTC, but it’s just not as fun to completely abstain and I feel like I would be putting my life on hold because I might get pregnant and I’m not convinced there is any link between occasional drinking and issues w/TTC from everything I have read. Same with coffee, I need my morning latte! If you can hold out, more power to ya!

I did this recently before an upcoming vacation. It was great. I actually enjoyed it. I’m usually a rum and coke drinker so I just have a Diet Coke and squeeze a lemon or a lime in it. I called it a “virgin Cuba libre”, which isn’t actually correct but fun and the fruit made it special and it was still refreshing and festive. Then when I drank on vacation it was an extra special treat.
