I watched it a few times when we had a TV and I wasn’t impressed. Too many drama queens and so much bridezilla moments. The dresses were pretty to look at though!

HAHA, my best girlfriend and I would watch it while slightly tipsy talking on the phone, and bitch about all the ungrateful bitches, and we LOVED when there’d be one who’d say “I’m 23, and met my fiance 6 months/a year ago” LOL…we’re both 30, going on 5+ years, and getting impatient…yeah, the show pisses us off a little 😉

@nikstar:  Glad to meet someone like me hahaha..

I love wedding shows especially say yes to the dress… if i have nothing else to do on a weekend i watch re-runs on netflix.. the dresses are gorgeous and i would love to go to the one in ATL… I also love four weddings just for laughter as well as bridezillas so i can imagine how i would smack the bride… Finally, the best in my opinion is my fair weddings with david tutera! I would love to have him as my wedding planner

Friday night is my night to take over the tv. (Thank you TLC) And both my SO and our roommate know better than to bother me while I’m watching my dress shows. Even if they’re reruns. I love say yes to the dress. I think I like the bridesmaids offshoot the best though.

I have watched it before… Just hoping I’ll never see a dress I absolutely love or something! I’ll be a budget bride for sure and can’t imagine spending more than $1,000 for a dress (I’m going to try to keep it in the $600-$800 range!), those dresses start at $2,500 or something like that! I’ve seen many a woman spend $10k plus lol… Its kind of like watching Million Dollar Listing for me, just a glimpse of beautiful things I can never afford 😉 If I’m in the right mood, it’s good tv to zone out on and daydream.

I watch and generally enjoy the show but I think that it gives people a ridiculous perception of how much wedding dresses cost! Typically on SYTTD they consider any bride with a budget that is less than $5,000 to be a budget bride…at the boutique where I bought my dress they didn’t have any dresses that were over $3,000!

I love SYTTD! I totally watched all 5 seasons on Netflix and all of Atlanta. We don’t have cable. Are there new seasons on? Oh I am missing it! SYTTD is my ultimate guilty pleasure.

I had to stop. But from SYTTD I have learned the following things:

  1. never take more then 2-3 people with you
  2. do not take your Fiance. The consultants will get mad at you.
  3. I have learned how to talk to the consultant and which words to use.

  1. I want to excentuate this
  2. I like this type of cut
  3. i want to look this way.
  4. this is my budget.

  • if you know you aren’t going to buy, let the consultants know. They wont be mad at you as long as you don’t waste their time.

    @nikstar:  +1

I record say yes to the dress, 4 weddings, Ryan to the rescue, etc. I’m pretty shameless and make my SO watch them with me all the time making comments about our future wedding. 😀

I love SYTTD, but I’m not as big a fan of the Atlanta versions.  The bridesmaid series confuses me to no end.

I can’t believe that there are really that many brides choosing hideous dresses they know their girls don’t like and look terrible in.

These are supposed to be your closest friends – why would you want them to look like jokes?

@GroovyHippieChick:  I totally feel that way. We are planning a small small wedding party with my Sister being my MH and my SO’s sister being the Best Wo-Man. I showed my pintrest to my mom and informed her that i want my mom to look smoking hot. I hate lots of mother of the bride dresses.

Here is the thing though. My sister is GORGOUS! SHe is so beautiful…TOO BEAUTIFUL! i know i don’t want her in a certain cut of dress because i know then she would upstage me. I want my mom and my sister to look smoking hot at my wedding but not as smoking hot as me. So i wouldn’t put her in a nasty dress but i will have control over what she wears…
