Jenny Yoo Marguex with the uneven hemline

J Crew Daphne that is a bit too short

J Crew Confetti that I would have to spend more $$ on

    Some other option

I am doing to go against the grain here, I like the first one best. I can’t see the uneven hem either. If you do go with the 2nd one though I love the idea of adding a satin band or a tulle underskirt. I think it would give the dress a more bridal look

I think I’m actually going to vote for the confetti dress (it doesn’t have to seem many lovers)! I do like the way the Margeux fits you – I think you look a little grandma-ish in the Daphne gown, but given that your wedding is a surprise wedding, and the J. Crew confetti gown will fit you more similarly to the Margeux and you can get it hemmed to the correct length, I think you should TOTALLY go for it. It looks adorable! (I went to the J. Crew website to look at it, and I think the little dangly circles in tiers are fantastic.)

So… for me, 1) J. Crew confetti, 2) Jenny Yoo Margeux, 3) J. Crew Daphne

I’m trying to be honest, so I apologize in advance b/c I don’t really like either of the dresses.

While I do think that the Daphne one is more flattering on you and is a very beautiful dress, my issue isn’t with the length (I can’t tell that it looks too short), but with the fact that it’s so casual and not bridal at all.  I’m not even sure a veil and some nice accessories can really bridal it up.

The first one is more bridal, but I just don’t love it on you so much.  I can’t even tell that the hem isn’t straight, but I just don’t think it sits on you nicely.  The bodice area is nice and then it kinda juts out from the sides before going down.. do you see what I’m seeing?

If I had to pick between the two, I would probably choose the first dress and see what I can do about the fact that it juts out like that.  But, if you have the option to keep looking, I would probably keep looking instead.

    Sorry 🙁

I really like the Daphne on you! Have you talked to a seamstress about what can be done to lengthen the dress a bit? Depending on how the dress is constructed, if there is some extra fabric at the waist the hem might be able to be lowered a bit. I love the fabric on the Daphne and the fact that it doesn’t look like every other wedding dress right now (mine included).

I also like the Jenny Yoo, but I think it hits you strangely at the hips and makes your hips look larger than they are. And I’m in no way saying you have big hips.

I love your choices! But I figured I’d see what DB has on their website incase you want something a little different.

I linked the images, so just click them to go to the page.

This is $130, and I love that it’s lace:

This one is also gorgeous, with a little bling. $140

I love that this is lace and one-shoulder. $150

And the last one I’ll post. This is very greek inspired, and has a little bling which is fun.

Good luck, report back to us with what you choose! When is the wedding?

@Lynzeeroo:  I’m just not seeing why you need more length on the Daphne?  It looks right to me, especially for a surprise backyard wedding (love that, btw!).

I really REALLY love the third. The other two are cute, and I know you are having a casual wedding, but it is still your wedding day, and it sounds like you really like #3 too. It’s a little more special than the others IMO 🙂

The 3rd is beautiful, but I don’t think it’s worth $600, and right now their website is only selling it in size 2. I really do think the first one is great though – especially with a beautiful necklace.

I would go with the daphne and have a seamstress add a white satin edge around the bottom for length!

i LOVE the 2nd dress!!!! personally i think the length is fine, but if it really bothers you, can’t you add a hem to it? Just make sure the fabric matches the dress!
