I prefer #2. I agree with what others said: #1 is very trendy while # 2 is much more timeless. But, both are flattering on you, so it really depends more on what you think feels more “you”

i vote for # 2 – though you look amazing in both, i feel that the first style looks like it will be too restricting and may be uncomfortable to party in.

I love them both! But I voted for the second one! 🙂

Another thing- I read in another one of your posts that you are having a garden wedding.  Dress #2 definitely says whimsical garden to me.  Dress #1 says more chic/modern… like a musuem or a ballroom.

I LOVE #1!! You look amazing in both so either one will look great but the first is definitely more trendy and I love mermaid style–bought one myself! Let us know your choice..I see its 50-50 now!

To be honest I don’t think I have ever chosen the mermaid dress in one of these polls (not my style) but that one is seriously GORGEOUS on you!!

@kelmac: Right there with you.  I voted for #1.

I guess you have to decide if you’d be comfortable in a mermaid dress all day.  I certainly wouldn’t be able to do it.  I tried a few on and it was so restricting.  BUT, I absolutely LOVE the Vera Wang on you.  Only you can make the decision.  They are both beautiful, and maybe I am alone on this one, but I don’t think it really matters what your “theme” is.  I’m not a big fan of discussing weddings in terms of themes and colors.  If you love the dress, wear the dress whether you are getting married in an uber-modern museum/space, garden, ballroom, or a parking deck!

I love the mermaid.  I would only suggest to get the top fitted into more of a sweetheart neckline.  🙂

The first is gorgeous, and you could definitely pull it off, but I think the second gives you a much more flattering shape.

I like #1 on you. It’s so unique! There is more of a chance though that you might look back on it in 20 years and wonder what was up with the trands of the 2011. #2 is beautiful but a little plain in comparison and really just doesn’t have the WOW factor as much as #1.

Go with the dress that you want…not your friends. Obviously the votes are pretty even (for now at least) so do what makes you happiest:)

Definitely the first, it so gorgeous on you.

I also love the smiley face on the baby bump, haha.

I LOVE dress #1!!! I think it makes your figure go P-O-W! :o)

The second dress is beautiful and initially I also fell in love with the intricate lacy, romantic A-line and Trumpet dresses. But over time of trying them on, keeping them on, sitting in them they weren’t as comfortable or flattering as the mermaid style. It’s something with the lace, and beading, etc. But you really do rock both!

The question is: When you think of your dress, which, of these two, comes to mind first?

The two dresses create very different looks. Not sure what your wedding style is, but the first dress strikes me as a cocktail or evening dress, more than a wedding dress. Whereas the second dress has a gorgeous train and is much more bridal looking.

Also, the bustline on the second dress is much better than the first. The sweetheart neckline really complements your figure. Whereas, the “wrapped” look on the first dress seems to take away from your bustline. Just my initial observation.

I am finding that you also have to consider how you will look or want to look in pictures that are from the waist line, and up.
