Well, it’s 7 months after the wedding, and I’m finally selling my wedding dress. The buyer is coming to get it this weekend. Getting this dress was a miracle in itself and is probably the most beautiful dress I will ever wear.
Which is why it seems so sad to condemn in to a life at the back of my closet, gathering dust and not getting to be enjoyed by anyone else.
I’m selling it for a little less than I would have liked, but we are going to use the proceeds to (FINALLY!) purchase our wedding photos.
Part of me is jumping for joy at the idea of finally being able to purchase the pictures, but part of me wants to hide in the closet with my dress and cry.
I hope I don’t regret this decision, as I know it’s for the best. What’s your “I sold my dress” story. Were you happy with the decision after the fact?

My dress is still sitting in my closet (uncleaned!). I posted it for sale, but didn’t have any buyers…. I can definitely understand the happy and sad emotions you are going through. Imagine how happy you are making the other bride, though!!

@oracle: thanks 🙂 I’m trying hard to focus on the positives of selling it. It almost seems that since we haven’t received our photos yet, that the dress is my only tangible link to the day right now, hopefully I will feel less sad when I have the album in my hand.

@ktisthatbees: You haven’t got any photos yet? Girl that sucks! It’s been like 7 months. Have you seen them on the computer yet, or do you mean you’re just waiting for the album?

Maybe take some of the $$ and buy a little splurge/date for you and your husband? May help you feel more positive, and it will be a fun way to send off the dress.
