I’m in the midst of trying to find a catering company for my May 2015 wedding and I’m getting so discouraged with the quotes I’ve received so far. I’ve contacted most of the big names that come up on these boards and most of them are at least 1k over my buget- even the “affordable” ones!
Im getting married at wide awake park in Hollywood, sc (just outside of charleston) and having a pretty laid back afternoon/evening event with lawn games, a fire pit if they let us, and skipping a lot of the more formal wedding traditions but I still want to have a nice meal for everybody. I’m fine with cocktail hour and buffet having only a few options (roast beef and chicken probably) but with my food/service budget (2.5k or less for 100 guests) it looks like all it’s going to get me is either takeout or hamburgers and fried chicken… not at ALL what I see for my big day. My total budget for the wedding is 10k which when I came up with the number it seemed like a rediculous amount to spend on one day but its going to be tight for sure when it’s all said and done, I know it has to be possible though!
So- did any of you ladies use a caterer that would fall in this range or know of a restaurant that does catering on the side? Who did you use?
I’m having such a hard time just finding names of lesser known companies because I’m planning from NC right now and won’t be moving to the area until November when I’ll need to have the essentials booked already, I would love your help and advice!!
