Yeah, unfortunately this is a pretty common thing and this isn’t the only company doing it by any means. If you ever get a call while wedding planning saying you’ve won stuff but need to come to their show or presentation or whatever to claim it…you can pretty much assume it’s a scam. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

@FutureMrsClayshulte:  I got a call like that after I attended the Charleston Bridal show. I was so excited when I thought that I had won something, and then they asked me to attend this thing, and pay an entrance fee. Its really frustrating that they allow someone like that in. And to be honest, the only Vendors I have used that I saw at the CBS are David’s Bridal and Men’s Wearhouse, because they are nationally acclaimed chains. I might use MaryKay for wedding day make-up, but I am not sure. I was really put off by it all.

I’ve received these calls too… they call CONSTANTLY. I don’t answer numbers I don’t recognize, I swear I thought I had a collector calling me (but didn’t have any debt!!). I finally answered and told them I lived out of state, sorry, to please remove me from their list. I get calls every few months now and tell them the same thing. It’s annoying but at least it’s not every 45 min from 6am-11pm like it was after the bridal show.

Bridal shows aren’t the only ones thathave these scams, sex shows, carnivals, trade shows all have them too. Unfortunately, I think these people just have to pay to rent a space at these things, and so many people out there seem to fall for all these scams, it’s sad.

Hi Everyone. I received a call from NHS Cooking 4 You this past Sunday. I obviously thought it might be too good to be true, but the woman on the phone told me that this seminar would only take about an hour and twenty minutes. She said that if I went I would get to choose from two prizes..

$600.00 gift card towards two wedding bands

OR

A 3 day 2 night stay in the Bahamas, Dominican Republic or Mexico. (This also included free food and drinks, as well as alcoholic drinks, for FREE for the entire trip.) The only thing I would have to pay for is my transportation to get there.. so a flight.

My fiancé and I were definitely interested in getting the wedding bands. So, even though we were skeptical, we went.

Okay, to start out I was very pleasantly surprised. The person putting on the seminar (which is trying to sell you cookware) was very very entertaining. It was not a dull or boring evening what so ever. I actually found myself have a really good time. At the beginning he explained what the FREE prizes were.. and then at the end.. he offered people to look at their catalogs for cookware or leave with their free prize.

I must admit that the cookware was very tempting, and we ALMOST bought it. (I do have to mention that he was no pressuring WHAT SO EVER!) As soon as we got up, we walked over to the guy and said that we weren’t interested. He was very nice and asked which gift we would like. He gave us the gift card and explained that we could either get two men’s bands, two woman’s bands or one for him and one for her. So basically no restrictions on that.

I want to suggest that if you get a call for this.. GO TO IT! It’s actually fun, and you get a FREE prize. As far as the first person posting about taxes and stuff.. that is true. BUT it’s not as bad as they made it seem.. it works like this..

If you want the vacation package, you ONLY have to pay 78.00 for the couple. Onetime fee! So basically your getting a free vacation, food and all included for 78.00. If you ask me, DEFFINITLY worth it! I know I would spend more on food alone.

The rings are also a great deal. It cost 25.00 per ring that you get (shipping and handling +tax). Paying 25.00 for a band instead of the listed 350.00 price..is a dang good deal if you ask me. It’s something you have to buy for you other half anyways.. might as well get an awesome ring.. for 25.00!!!

I am extremely happy I went and could recommend it to everyone to give it a shot. There really isn’t a catch to it. I’m extremely happy. J

Yeah, this is a common thing and bridal shows…as soon as you “sign up” your number is sold to retailers from travel agents to cookware wholesalers….

That was my only post because before I went to the seminar the other day I looked online to see if there was any reviews, and this was the only one that I could find. So I posted on here because I actually went to it… Unlike every single one of you on here who are talking shit on it. I was just trying to let people know that it’s a good deal, didn’t know I was dealing with such bitchy woman.

Also, have you found any reviews online from woman that actually went to it saying it was a scam and that it wasn’t worth it? I doubt it. If it was such a scam.. There would be a lot more reviews from woman who went.
