Hi! So I know there are already threads warning of scammers on here, but they seem to be a few years old and closed off.
I was contacted a couple days ago by user: mascot1m to buy my dress on here and he was a scam — told me he would only reply to private emails and wroe with weird caps and grammar, similar to reports of previous scammers. (Called himself Mr. Rolex Mascot). Another one called me (I had my number listed, since removed), and went through this whole speech about having shippers pick it up and buying it through Paypal. Paypal might sound safe, but if you read here: https://craigslistpostingsecrets.wordpress.com/pay-pal-scam/ they get tricky. I looked his number up: 239 300 7107 and it was on a list of a bunch of complaints.
Anyways, I’ve actually done quite a bit of selling and buying on Craigslist and hadn’t come across this trick yet (offering to send money via paypal and have shippers pick it up), so I wanted to share. Often these scams give off pretty fishy signals (grammar, spelling, weird statements, etc.) — trust your instincts if something sounds off!
