Darling Husband is on a business trip, and while I live in a safe neightborhood, I have been totally freaked out.

I totally know what you mean. I hate walking across a room knowing I’m fully visible to the outside. Can you turn the lamp off from where you are sitting? If not, just move quickly and hug the walls! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m in Boston, MA – just about to finish up my work day! What exactly is darts? Like lawn darts? Or throwing darts at a dart-board darts? (I learn new stuff here every day)!

Toddler & Tiaras…now that is definitely trashy American TV! LOL!

I’m in Dublin, OH.  My Fiance is out of town (he’s visiting Lincoln, Nebraska for a conference, boo!).  I hate being home without him, but I have my dogs to keep me company.  I’ve also been incredibly productive without him around!

I definitely do, and when I lived alone for many years I would turn on the alarm system the second I walked in the door at night!  It made me feel a lot more secure, I still turn it on when Darling Husband is away overnight!

When I moved in with Fiance, it was the first time I think just about ever that I spent a night alone in a building when he was on travel.  I’d always been either with my brother, or with roommates, or at least in an apartment building with other people around making noise.  Being truly alone in a building scared the crap out of me.

Oh goodness OP!!

My sister is freaking scared to stay home alone. She’s 18 and when my mom goes out of town she either crashes at a friend or at my apartment.

I know how you feel! When my husband & I first got our apartment it was my first time moving out of my parents house. I was always use to someone being home at night. But my husband works night shift. So here I was in a new city, no one around me that I knew & my husband working all night. I was scared crapless some nights, to say the least!

I got use to it though. Now its totally normal for me to be home alone at night & with time I am sure you will get use to it if it becomes a norm for your husband to be gone any time during the night hours. ๐Ÿ™‚

Im the biggest baby when it comes to being home alone, we now live in an appartment complex and my neighbors know when my SO is going to be out of town so they always ask if I want them with me while I walk the dog! haha

Darling Husband is in the military so I am always alone.  You would think I would be used to it, but nope.  I’m a scaredy cat.  I sleep with the lights on.  This is bad, but yesterday, in the middle of the day, I heard something fall and thought someone was in my garage.  The dog and I ran upstairs and locked ourselves in the bedroom for an hour.  I had to call my mom back on the mainland and she talked to me on the phone while I searched my house.  She said, “What am I supposed to do if you scream?”  Uhh, get on the first plane and fly the 12 hours here??  LOL.

Totally know what you mean. My fiance works night shifts every now and then at the jail and I hate it. He just went back to nights after being on days for the longest time so now I have to get used to it again. The first few nights are the hardest, I barely slept last night. I shut all curtains and double lock all doors before the sun goes down, I can’t go near the windows when it’s dark out. It’s the worst when my dogs need to go outside in the middle of night, I have to call my fiance just so it’s not so quiet while the back door is open. I’m such a wuss.

When I’m home alone, I curl up with my cat and watch the TV SUPER LOUD.
