@weird_bunny:  I don’t have any tips, but I just wanted to say I think that’s an awesome gift for your FH!  I know one person who has done this for her husband and she said that you should have a chat with your photographer and let him/her know your concerns.  A good photographer will put you at ease and know how to pose you.  Don’t be afraid to speak up if you feel uncomfortable!

Also, congrats on the weight loss.  That is amazing progress!

I have no tips but I will say this, your Fiance certainly won’t think you look like a naked whale, so that’s all that matters really! He obviously thinks you are beautiful just they way you are or he would have asked you to marry him! Congrats on your weight loss and good luck with the shoot! I am sure you will look smokin’ hot!

@weird_bunny:  You will certainly not look like a whale! Your Fiance already knows how you look and he asked you to marry him. If he’s already seen you naked on a regular day, this will only look better as you have full make-up, lighting, and the benefits of photoshop! I think you will be very happy with the results.

My Fiance is a hobby photog and he takes these pictures of me all the time. I am by no means a small girl and working on losing weight too. You’ve made great progress so far, congrats! And I am sure you will look beautiful in the pictures.

@weird_bunny:  I’m not sure if I fit the bill for this, but I have suggestions!

Talk to your photographer about your self-conscious zones. A good photographer will know about angles and poses that will help minimize these zones for you.

Two, when you are looking for boudoir outfits try on many things, and go with whatever makes you feel great. Like a nice corset or bustier? Or prefer a simple bra & panty, what about a camisole, or looser fitting but sexy gown? I would try on many things, and see what you like. Also do not underestimate the simple appeal of just undies and a tee-shirt (particulary if it is slipping off your shoulder). Find what makes you feel comfortable and beautiful.

@weird_bunny:  Hey there! I did one a few weeks ago. I’m a US size 20/22. I wore a couple of dresses, then a sweatshirt of my SO’s with some cute lacy underwear, then a couple of babydolls and finally a corset/lace skirt combo.

I was kind of disappointed with my body in some of the pictures, but after giving it some time to digest and going back I found that I really love most of them. I don’t have the rights to the photos yet, but here’s a quick example that I put together trying to decide between two for my SO’s book of prints:

My suggestion is to talk with your photographer beforehand. If there are certain poses you want to avoid or even body parts you want to emphasize, make sure he/she knows that. Bring a multitude of outfits – we were told to just bring EVERYTHING and I’m glad I did because it gave me so many choices day of. Go get your makeup and hair done, get your nails done/give yourself a nice manicure and just relax. You’re gorgeous and your Fiance is going to love it!

If you want to try and drop some weight between now and then, go for it, but don’t push yourself. He loves you for who you are now, not some idealized version of yourself 🙂

@weird_bunny: First off, your Fiance is gonna love it, he loves you after all! Second of all, these photographers know what they’re doing. They won’t pose you in any positions that will be unflattering. Third, in case you need some encouragement, I found this Pinterest board that may be of some encouragement. http://pinterest.com/emily_law/plus-sized-boudoir/
