@Peachacid- I think that sounds good, only I would take out the quick note part. Maybe just:

Good Morning, Dr. 00000000-

Thank you again for the interview on Friday, I really enjoyed meeting you. After the interview I know I would be a terrific fit at X High School as the literary coach and I look forward to hearing from you soon regarding the position.

Thank you again,

Peach Acid

Having been on the hiring side, I can attest that it often takes longer to do anything that I predicted. HR has to follow certain steps and if one person is out sick or something, it slows down the process. Son’t assume that just because they haven’t called yet means you didn’t get the job. Sometimes it takes 2 days to get an offer letter put together. I agree with PP, just send an email thanking them for the interview and following up on the status.

@peachacid:  I was really excited, I had a great first interview, he said he had over 80 applicants and narrowed it to the top 13, he said he would then narrow it to the top 3 for a second interview…I got that.  And then a few days after he said I would know i get an email saying they went with someone else.

🙁

@peachacid:  In my role, I don’t usually discuss salary with the candidate at all. Prior to getting to me though, HR always discusses salary range of the position and the candidate’s salary requirements. Then, if we decide to hire the person, HR tells us their salary requirement and I tell them what I want to offer as salary (based on the budget).

@peachacid:  Good for you! I figure, what’s the worst they can say? We hate your enthusiasm? Based on your witty posts, I would say they would be lucky to have you. Good luck!

I’d wait until Friday or Monday considering they only called your references on Monday.

@MrsNewDay:  +1. I would email as well. Thank them for the interview and at the end just say something about how you very much look forward to hearing from them soon.
