It is possible to drink that much water… and it is un confortable. The best thing is you get to pee as soon as it is done. Good luck!

That seems normal, I’ve had an ultrasound before and I had to drink ALOT. It’s three glasses of water. I was definitely uncomfortable.
They said to pee at 8:30. Then drink 24 ounces between 8:30 and 9. Then nothing between 9 and 10. My appointment is at 10.
I will get written instructions in the mail, so I will double check. Thank Goodness I can drink juice, because that much water woud be hard.
Oh the US is so uncomfortable. (I have PCOS and have had many) but the pee you take after the US feels soooo good 😉
haha, maybe it just sounds crazy to me now because I think my bladder holds a grand total of about 4 ounces with this darn baby using my bladder as his pillow!
They are doing the over the belly ultrasound with my full bladder, then an up the hooha ultrasound once I empty it. I look forward to a very pleasant day! Woohoo! I better get some serious noms for dinner that night! 🙂
Heathaah thank you so much for updating us! I was keeping you in my thoughts and thankfully things seem like they are moving along, although I am sorry about the bad news, the best thing you could be doing is seeing your dr right now. The parental talks getting cooled down is also a good thing b/c sometimes family doesn’t realize that things can get pretty sensitive and they all have good intentions. The full bladder is uncomfortable but yes, the relief afterwards is fantastic. Good luck on the US and keep us posted!
I had this ultrasound – definitely make sure you drink the 24 oz!!! The first time I went I hadn’t drank enough and they sent me home to come back the next day. I made SURE I drank enough that time. I was still a virgin at the time so they only did the over the belly test – it was fine except I had to pee so bad!!! LOL She was sure to be quick for me though and hopefully whoever does yours will do the same!!
Just got home form the ultrasound…waiting for results. The tech told me “woman to woman” that there are a few red flags for PCOS, but not like “oh this poor woman!” But yes, a decent chance. No big deal…we will deal with it…not the end of the world. The cysts are not huge though, but there are a lot.
Now I just need to get the blood work done to check for Celiac Disease.
On a positive note…although she obviously didn’t know for sure, she thinks I probably did ovulate this past month. Small sign of it on the right side (a normal recently burst cyst, i guess). Definately good!
That’s good to hear! Well not about the PCOS but kudos to you for keeping your head up! That attitude will help you achieve success 🙂 I hope the bloodwork goes smoothly for ya
Really glad to hear you’re getting this all checked out! It will help!!
@heathaah sending good vibes your way and just an FYI, FI’s ex has severe PCOS and she ended up conceiving 2 healthy twin boys once she got on the correct medication (not w/my Fiance…w/her hubby!). So I have no doubt if you do have PCOS and figure our your treatment that you’ll be a fertile myrtle in no time!!
