Last night our house was broken into. 🙁 Nothing was stolen, but our house was trashed. Why someone or persons would break into a house and not steal anything, I don’t understand. The idea that someone was in our house when we weren’t home and who we didn’t know just creeps us out. How could I have not predicted this? (I’m pychic and usually vision big things happening). Anyways, we’re just glad nothing was stolen, but still alot of damage. Our china was smashed to pieces, windows broken and the door pried open. Stuff strewn all over the floor.

That’s so scary! I hope your insurance covers it all. I would love to get a security system at our new house.

Oh no that’s scary! I hope everything is okay! Get a security system or something, or it might be hard to sleep again! I went through that a few years ago in my apartment, but I was home when he broke in… I eventually had t get medication to help me sleep!

omgoodness!! Its a horrible feeling having an invasion in your home. Hope the cops were able to do something and your insurance covers the damage. I would check to make sure anything to do with your identity wasnt stolen. i.e passports. That would freak me out!

That’s awful, I’m so sorry! We got broken into in January, nothing trashed (we didn’t even notice for a few hours) but a bunch of stuff was taken. It was a really horrible feeling, I hated how anxious and paranoid it made us, for weeks after! We now have a security system, roller shutters on all the windows, and a much greater distrust for our neighbours – I really do wish for the “good old days” when we didn’t have these thoughts. Look after yourself!!!

How awful! Given that nothing was taken, it almost sounds personal. This might sound hokey, but do you know anyone unstable enough to do something like this? Anyone particularly angry with you? Did you call the police and make a report?
@ccranetobe: Good point about identity theft. xxRosiexx, you should keep an eye on your credit and such!

I was thinking along the same lines as ms.moonlight. Having your house trashed, but nothing stolen, sounds more like a personal attack than a random one.

I’m sorry that happen to you. It really does suck. We had someone break into our home about 2 years ago, twice within two weeks. Needless to say we moved almost immediately after the second occurence. I’m glad you guys weren’t home.

Oh what a terrible thing! A similar thing happened to my boss at my last job. They broke in, trashed some things, but they didn’t touch her digital camera, jewelry, stereo – anything that was sitting out in plain sight – except a large glass jar full of spare change. It was so random and bizzare! It turned out that the people who broke in weren’t hardened criminals or someone she knew who had a grudge, it was just random teenagers doing it for a thrill. It’s still an awful experiences, but I just wanted to say that it’s not necessarily a personal attack on you, it could just be kids doing it on a dare or something. Best of luck with your insurance and thank goodness you weren’t hurt!
