I remember that book – and the creepy pictures! My friends and I would read these in the closet with the flashlight. The only one I remember is the girl at the graveyard whose dress snagged on a twig, but she thought it was a hand, and she “died of fright.”

Whoa I remember these! I had a babysitter who would read me these and I’d have terrible nightmares. LOL They should leave the scary art- it’s burned in my brain forever.

@lunathea:  the toe one still sticks out in my mind too… LOL

I looooooved these! I guess the author went to high school with one of my old teachers, he (the old teacher) was pretty bitter about the success of this book lol!

I remember these books. I was SO easily scared as a kid so I avoided them like the plague. Then one day my fourth-grade teacher decided to turn off all the lights and have us sit in a circle on the floor while she read from one of the books! She even made a point to show us each terrifying picture. I was scared out of my wits but I didn’t want to say anything and have the other kids tease me, so I just sat there paralyzed, haha. Then I had nightmares for weeks :/

Bwahahaha!  I have two copies of this!  I know at least one copy is on the book shelf in the room next to me.  Not sure if the other copy is on the same shelf, or somewhere else amongst the piles of books we have in this house!

@HappilyEverAfter54:  The article says they are out of print and that they are getting expensive  on amazon! I bought my son a copy of all 3 books a couple years back, glad I did:) I still have all my original Judy Blume books too from when I was a kid!

That right!  I forgot there was more than one book.  Now I am wondering if I have two copies of the first book, or books 1 and 2.  I know I don’t have the third book.
