You are still actively friends with FORTY EIGHT people you knew from k-12??????

That’s quite impressive! I couldn’t even NAME 48 people I went to school with!

48! That seems strange.

For me:

K-6: 0

I’m assuming that you mean people that I’m still friends with, not people I was friends with at the time…. I’ve lost touch with most of the people I was friends with during school.

K-12: 2

Undergrad: 1

Grad School: 4

K-12: 3 (2 that I see regularly, and 1 that I only see once a year or less, but text to keep in touch)

Undergrad: 2 (I didn’t actually meet them at college, but at an internship during that period)

You have a totally insane number of friends.  I barely have time for my 4 or 5 friends… (Plus DH’s small group of friends)

48?!?! I don’t even have 48 friends TOTAL!

anonymousbee10 :  I am active friends with 2 people from K-12, we’re 35 years old and we talk weekly and get together on a regular basis.

I’m friends with 3 people from college still, though we live further apart and try to hang out all together once a year and for big life events.

The rest of my friends I’ve acquired through work, our kids or just life in general.

anonymousbee10 :  Not trying to be snarky… genuinely curious?

How often do you see each of those 48 friends?

How often do you talk to them?

I have 48 acquaintances that I talk to or see every once in a while, but they aren’t my good friends.

Im wondering if the definition of friend would explain for the difference between your numbers and everyone else’s.

Active friendships?

K-12: 1 (and only sort of in touch)

College undergrad: 15 or so (I’ve been out of school for 10 years – but we get together once a year and stay in touch)

Grad school: 1

I had a lot more friends and acquaintences while IN school, but now that we’re all spread out, they’ve dwindled. I’m only counting the ones I talk to/see IRL (not just social media).

k-12 — none who i still talk to

jr college — 4 friends I made from this era of my life, tho none actually from school

college — 2

work (post college) — 1 (tho we haven’t talked recently)

grad school (current life phase) – 2 friends I see regularly outside school (only one actually from school); more acquaintances who I might grab coffee with occassionally or hang out with at events

So… I guess 9 total. Plus my boyfriend. 🙂 I’ve been in my current city for about 1.5 years and wouldn’t mind feeling like I had more community and stronger friendships here. Most of my friends are across the country now, which is lame.

I’m very curious what your definition of friend is.

I’m only counting people I actively talk to, email, text and hang out with on a regular basis.

k-12: 2

Undergrad: 2

All my other friends are people I met outside of school.
