I had a full-on meltdown infront of the library staff last Thursday and I am stressed aaaaall the time. I am on my final semester of my BA and I have worked SO HARD for the past 3 1/2 years to ensure that I get good enough grades to a) do a Masters and b) get funded for it, and sometimes it feels like I am just hanging on by my fingernails. Cannot wait for this semester to be over!

I don’t know how you guys deal with school AND weddingplanning. I’m personally waiting until after uni is all over!

@CestTresJolie14:  Aw I feel bad you are so incredibly stressed! It sounds like you are really having a hard time and you should really figure out some ways to deal with the stress before you have a breakdown, you por thing!

Maybe break down speciic tasks month by month or week by week to accomplish them? Only do the MOST essential of projects. Sometimes when you see it laid out like that it seems doable. Also, don’t be afraid to ask your family for help. I know we don’t want to burden anyone, but I’ve found some people really enjoy wedding stuff and actually do want to help!

Hope this helps! You need a massage!

@CestTresJolie14: Argh, I haven’t had a weekend to relax in monthhhhhhhs! But know that soon it will be over ,and oh so worth it πŸ™‚

Teaching in another country has its perks, but its hard not being with family. We all have to make sacrifices once in a while. Lets take it a day at a time, and celebrate when its all over!

@ Idunn, it can be done ! It’s just hard. I am so sorry you had a meltdown, how long to go ?

Im in the same boat, finishig my teachers college, trying to plan a wedding, my fiance is having issues with his back and needs to have surgery. Sooo stressed. Trying to deal with school first, but then im afraid it will be too late for wedding stuff. Because im in school, and the economy we dont have enough for deposits on wedding stuff at the moment. Ugh, just way too much going on.

Yes! I am in my first year of graduate school and planning my wedding. My second semester has been really crazy because I’m taking entirely too much coursework in addition to my research and TAing. I have had many sleepless nights this year waking up and realizing just how little for the wedding I have done. Somehow it seems that the wedding is happening though. This too shall pass!

@CestTresJolie14:  Oh gosh. I have terrible anxiety associated with school too, and though I am not officially planning a wedding, I do spend too much time dreaming over ideas since I will hopefully be engaged within the year. I’m a grad student, in my second semester, and I just have NO motivation this semester. For various reasons, I haven’t had a break from school since January (spring break was taken up by school too), and I have 4 classes, and I’m overwhelmed. . . so much so that I don’t sleep more than 6 hours a night anymore. I wake up with butterflies in my stomach and my heart pounding at dawn every morning, unless it’s the weekend and I’m at home with my SO (I have to live apart from him during the week because my school is too far away to commute).

I sometimes want to cry or scream or something. . . every couple weeks something with COMPLETELY overwhelm me and I will cry and cry. It’s embarrassing. Or I will get incredibly mad about something and rant to people, which is also embarrassing. And some nights I feel so anxious that I don’t know if I can sleep.

I guess I don’t have much advice, just sympathy and a pretty darn good understanding of how you feel! It’s awful, but it is temporary. It will be done with soon. Though that’s a scary thought too sometimes considering how much homework I have!!

Good luck and feel free to PM me if you want to talk/vent, anytime. πŸ™‚

@CestTresJolie14:  Thanks for the very nice reply! πŸ™‚

I am concerned that once the planinng starts, there will be difficulties with family. . . my SO’s and my sets of parents can’t stand each other, and there are some uncles and cousins of mine I don’t want at my wedding, which might prove unpleasant. That’s a load of stress I sure don’t need right now!

I’m getting an MS in Conservation Biology– what I’m actually doing is studying alpine plant ecology. I love it, even though I am a little nervous about finding a job– I think I will be OK though.

My SO and I have had occasional conversations about getting engaged over the last few months, and agreed that we will probably get married in 2015 sometime, so there is a decent chunk of time before then, though I’ll still be working on my thesis into the beginning of that year (the very last edits and such, not anything major). He has been saying things lately that indicate that a ring is definitely on his mind (at least, if I read him right, that’s what his detailed questions about the size of the stone in my new RHR indicate!). He also wrote something in a card to me recently that made me strongly suspect that an engagement is coming, probably by next April at the latest. . . we’ll see, though. I guess it could happen anytime in the next 12 months or so, though later is more likely than sooner!
