That is a serisouly beautiful ring!!

I don’t have any tips coz my rings get so scratched as i’m pretty rough on them, but when you get them rhodium plated they will come up looking brand new. I do mine every 6 months, some people only get them done every 12-18 months but i like the look of it when it’s just come back from being plated.

not to sound like a smart #$#%, but the only way to avoid scratches is to not wear it. It’s totally beautiful and congrats on your engagement!

Yeah…it’s normal..all my rings have fine scratches on them…it’s what gives it character and show that you wear your rings. Any jeweler should be able to polish them out easily if it really bothers you.

Your ring will show the most wear in the first few months of wearing it. After that, all the scratches and dings blend together to look like a soft patina. There is no way around it!

mine has a lot of scratches too but no one besides me would notice. What PP’s have said is true, the first few are most noticable, eventually they blend together and it all looks the same.  getting it cleaned and polished helps too.

Not much you can do. The higher the gold content the softer the metal will be. Light scratches on the palm side of your ring is super normal.. even after 2weeks. Everything you do will contribute to it, sliding your hands in and out of your pocket, in your purse.. everything. Taking your ring to be cleaned/polished/dipped will make it as new as the first day you got it but then it starts all over again. Its just something you’re gonna have to get used to!!

I second everyone’s not much you can do. That’s why we got the lifetime warranty deal that covers rhodium dipping, sizings, sauderings, and all that for the lifetime of the ring. I’ve already gotten it redipped twice, and I’ve had it for a little less than a year. I probably won’t be getting it redipped as much later on, but I’ve always had to send it in for something so I got it done at the same time. I’ll be sending it in again before the wedding to be redipped and have it saudered to my wedding band.

Well, your ring is damn beautiful! I don’t see any scratches, just bling 🙂

Now, if you are talking about those itty bitty fine little scratches, then they are just a result of daily wear and knocking it around. But, if you are talking small gouges, then it’s probably a result of bang it severely too often.

I’ve had my e-ring for about a year & 2 months (it’s palladium) but I am really gentle on it, and the only place that has developed “scratches” is the bottom of the ring, & it’s just a light patina. The rest of my ring looks shiny & new.

I would try to wash your ring gently, try not to knock it around, definitely don’t lift heavy things with it on (not only does this cause scratches, but also tension warp), & don’t wear it to do any dirty work or to sleep in.
