- Wedding: February 2012
I originally made a joke about this with Fiance – we’re not registering or asking for gifts but if people do get us something, the most useful thing would just be…money. Just plain money.
It’s totally become a serious thing, though. Since December we’ve moved into a more expensive apartment, paid for our small wedding in full, and taken a loan out on a new car AND I’m not working as much as I used to so while we’re not broke or hard up, it all feels like a major hit to our bank account in a short amount of time. FI’s best friend already told him that for our gift, he was going to get us a presidential suite at some hotel and Fiance actually told him (jokingly) “No, don’t do that, you can just give us the money instead. What do we need with a suite?”
Our boss alread got us an electric skillet. Fiance and I have secretly decided that while vacation things and household wares are nice and sweet, the best thing anyone can do right now is “help us pay for all this s***” lol.
Anyone else feeling the same?
