We used a glue stick. It was a life saver!

Another option is to wet a wash cloth and swipe it across the glue strip.

I discovered the most awesome thing at work. It’s an envelope moistener!!! lol. I freaked out the first time I used it! It’s pretty much just like a glue stick, it has a little adhesive on it too but it applies the perfect amount of moisture and adhesive!! So excited to use for me invites!!!

I had a special envelope moistener.  I used it on one envelope and it made the paper look all strange.  So I used a sponge to wet the glue on the envelope and sealed them that way.

I just used a damp rag. Nothing too wet to wreck the envelopes, but wet enough to seal it.

I’m doing some sort of sticker (or fauxwax seal if the mail man thinks it’ll be ok) so they won’t ruin the envelop when they open it…. because obviously they will want to save it FOREVER.

A lot of people recognize a wedding invitation by the either fancy lettering on front (printed or hand-drawn) or the thickness of it.  A lot of people will rip it open by sliding their finger under the flap in the corner or some people will use a letter opener.  Personally, I just try and slide my finger underneath the flap a little slower than normal so I don’t jack it up incase I need to save the envelope to hold all it’s contents.

You can use a sticker but you’ll still want to seal the envelope closed completely.  Don’t worry what people will do to the envelope, it’s an envelope.  It’s not like they are going to rip the invite and stuff inside.  Also, if you want to do an envelope liner, that’s great and are cute, but most people don’t notice them because they don’t open them delicately.

Are you talking about the inner envelope?  If so – you don’t seal that one.
