Did you end up getting the cost of photography? Or just the dress+alterations?

I’m not judging you, I think if that’s what you felt like you needed to do then that’s great but I’m curious how much you spent on lawyers fees/court costs vs how much you won?

sarahsmiles2018 :  Aside from the monetary losses you got back, I am glad to hear that this process gave you the peace/validation you needed. I remember reading your thread hoping that you would be able to move on from this.

sarahsmiles2018 :  So thats a no then. I was all for you taking her to court for dress costs, but thought the photography ask was OTT. She obviously has no business being a tailor. Glad you’re happy with the outcome

“…at the end of the day it makes me feel that there is justice with the system and that brides shouldn’t have to deal with this kind of treatment by anyone in the wedding industry, you get one day to look and feel beautiful and if that is tarnished by anyone, they should be held responsible for that”

Oh I’d forgotten about this little gem from your last post:  I look like some slob who just walked out of the Salvation Army.

sarahsmiles2018 :  I’m glad you feel better about this after taking them to court, but I can’t imagine wasting so much time and energy just to get a $1000 (thats what you said the dress/alterations cost you) back.

My hair stylist fucked up my hair the day before my wedding, I paid more than what your dress cost for extensions and color and while I was disapointed I didn’t allow it to ruin my big day… but you do you.

sarahsmiles2018 :  Seems to me you used the dress mess up as an excuse to get refunded money that was spent on pictures.  That is kinda shady, to me.  If you already decided that your entire day was “ruined” because your dress then why did you let the photographer take pictures then?  Sure get recouped for the dress alterations, but you abused the system and that is trashy.

Wow there is some serious judginess going on here. The OP was unhappy enough to go to court and it sounds like the judge agreed that she suffered damages. That literally exactly how it is supposed to work! Just because it wouldn’t be worth it to you doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth it for her.
