I woudln’t leave my dress at someone’s house if it smelled bad and they had all those pets, regardless of any allergies. If you do, get it cleaned before the wedding.

@HeatherDee:  Yes, but I would really think twice about leaving it at that person’s house to begin with…

@HeatherDee:

How far is the next town?  Have you looked for seamstresses outside your town?

I’m worried about your Fiance, I think if he’s sensitive enough, it might take more than a regular cleaning for him to not react.

I had some work on a gown I had and the woman had five dogs.  Her sewing room was off limits for pets though – that would just be a headache pulling off all the little hairs.  I love dogs and even have a dog, but I know how dresses pick up hair.

I’d try a seamstress in the next town over frankly.

If you take it to a dry cleaner it should be fine. It’s polyester right? As long as it’s not silk it should be very easy to clean.

I would definitely get it cleaned.  I am very allergics to cats and certain dogs.  One of my best friends has two cats, and she has to make sure anything she wears around me is fresh out of the wash and lint brushed, otherwise I get sick!  I feel bad, but that’s what besties do for each other.  You’d be upset if Fiance was sick all night!
