Sorry to get to this late, but I recommend Angie Cavallaro in Fairfax, VA or Estee Livioco in Motgomery Village, MD. Their contact info is here:

I used Angie. It was not fun to get from DC to Fairfax, and she does not do weekend appointments (but does do evenings), but Angie’s work is great and prices are great for the area. I paid $225 for my dress to be taken in, hemmed, and bustled. I hear that she books far in advance and that you should get on her calendar quickly, but with a February wedding it likely is not too late. I made an appointment in June for my early October wedding, which was about as much time as you have now before your wedding, but I booked right in the middle of wedding season (vs. wedding season is ending now).

I loved Estee – my alterations were $185 – and she did SO MUCH work!

@doingathing: Angie did weekend appointments for me! I think it was $200 for bodice work and hemming, many many layers of tulle.

@dorsay: Do you know if either Estee or Angela still has cap on their services? I know they used to do that and I think Estee put $200 cap for her service … so not sure if that is still the case?

Angie never used the word cap to me, but I have seen quite a few other brides say that they paid $225 for her (which is what I paid) and I have not seen someone say they paid more.
