I live in Center City Philadelphia and I am looking for a great affordable seamstress in the area. I purchased my dress from a store in Delaware that had great prices but now I want to bring it back to the city or some place close by for alterations. I would love any suggestsions…good or bad!!!

I have someone! I am planning on taking my own dress to her when I order it. She has done work for my whole family for weddings and proms. PM me for her information!

My FH has used Kathy Rippert for 20 years. I am 5 foot tall and have to get EVERYthing hemmed and/or tailored. She gets it right every time. Her prices are resonable.

Nilah in Drexel Hill – she turned my maid of honor’s silk strapless dress into a pleated sweetheart neckline. She won’t go to anyone else for alterations anymore.

@sweetpea1813: I used Kathy Rippert for my Nicole Miller dress. She does phenomenal work! Her Facebook page has a lot of pictures of her work: https://www.facebook.com/ripperts.tailoring?fref=ts.

It’s not in the city but Sue Kim’s Dressmaking in West Chester is fantastic! She did the alterations and bustle for my satin wedding dress and it came out perfect!
