My fiance and I are getting married on June 18, 2011. We are trying to figure out where to go for our honeymoon. The problem is we can’t really seem to agree on one spot. He is looking for more of the city/night-life experience while I’m looking for the romantic/relaxing/beach experience. He doesn’t want to go somewhere that is right on the beach or extremely warm. We agree that we want to go somewhere where there is a nightlife and clubs and bars and stuff. I’d like to go shopping and sightseeing. We are not opposed to driving somewhere. I have never traveled before, so I’m aware this sounds confusing. I’m just looking for ideas on where we could go that wouldn’t cost a lot.
I appreciate the help. 🙂

Las Vegas was the perfect compromise for me and my Darling Husband. Everyday we hung out at the pool then at night we went out.

Miami? I’ve never been but it seems like it would meet your beach/relaxing needs while meeting your husbands nightlife needs. Vegas is fun and depending where you stay it can be very nice. It also has a ton to do (night life, shows, pools and spas for relaxing, not to mention gambling!)…but June can be VERY hot. The good thing is you don’t have to go outside if you don’t want to!

I’ve stayed at the Seminole hard rock hotel in Hollywood, FL twice in the past two years and loved it! They have it all and you don’t have to leave the property, but if you wanted to Miami is only a 25 minute drive. The spa in the hotel is awesome, they have lots of restaurants, a comedy club, night club, shopping, casino, bars and lots more. The pool area is really awesome, you can also rent pool side cabanas if you want. The time my FH and I went we rented a car and never ended leaving the property. The website does not do this place justice.

We are thinking of driving from here (Maine) to Mass and going to Six Flags, then staying in Mass overnight, and waking up early and driving to SC the next day and spending the rest of our time in Myrtle Beach, SC. My fiance went there when he was younger and said it was a lot of fun. Plus it’s on the beach, and they have a lot to do at night.
I am interested in seeing if anyone has ever gone to Myrtle Beach and where they stayed and what they did while they were there. We plan on going to the Ripley’s Aquarium and the Boardwalk, and to Medieval Times. I’m looking on information on a good hotel to stay at. Not too expensive, but one that is nice and romantic.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Miami Beach! Just come in like September/October. It’s a great time to come here weather-wise and also price-wise on hotels and stuff.
It’s amazing here. You can do all kinds of crazy night life stuff or find a secluded part of a beach where it’s quiet and beautiful/relaxing. I’m very happy I live here, I couldn’t see myself anywhere else with snow and all that.
