I am such a music fiend. So much so that it’s actually making it so much harder to decide what I want to walk down our little layman’s trailhead aisle to. So I was wondering what you thought was the most romantic song ever….I am having an acoustic guitar and flute. So any vocals or major up meoldies would be in flute, played by my best friend. 🙂
(no country please…sorry! I grew up with a country music father, went on tour, done with all of that!)
Hey @WillyNilly, I’m a music lover too, and have spent (wasted) countless hours making song lists for our band (to play and NOT to play,) as well as playlists for rehearsal, getting ready, and after party.
As far as romanitc songs…
I love Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk. I really wanted to use it right after we said our vows, but we are getting married in a Catholic church and they are so strcit on music and won’t let ANY popular songs in the ceremony 🙁
Here is a link…and yes, it’s set to clips from The Notebook (Noah—le sigh)
I know you said NO couuntry…but Make You Feel My Love ALWAYS gets me…you don’t have to do the Garth Brooks version, and Bob Dylan did sing it first, and Adele’s version is beautiful too, obvi!
Also—you can never go wrong with The Prayer…I bet your musicians will be able to play a beautiful version!
@BrooklynWife: LOL @ Noah comment. Oh, we’re not doing dancing! That’s the beauty of my wedding. I really really really didn’t want dance to be the main event. So we are laying low with an ipod and if someone feels the urge, they can be my guest. It’s a pretty hippie-friendly wedding so if folks are dancing, it’s on the beach on bare feet and they’re probably loaded. 😉
I’m just trying to figure out what the girls and I should walk down the aisle too. My friends/musicians are also doing the music while everybody is waiting for us so approx ~20 minutes of music.
