It’s finally time! our 10th anniversary os coming up & I am looking to upgrade my wedding ring to a 1.75 -2.0 carat cushion cut halo ring. (I have a size 6 finger) I have been looking everywhere for the perfect setting Like the one in this picture but it’s harder than you would think to find! I see pictures of them all over the web but can never seem to find one just like this! It’s so frustrating! I like that it is very classic & simple w/ a thin band & thin halo and allows the center stone to be the main focal point. I have seen stores that have settings LIKE it but not this classic style exactly. (What is so rare about this??) I don’t get it. Does anyone have a recommendation where I might look to find something like this? And as always, if you have a cushion cut halo this size PLEASE post your pics so I can see it and be excited! Cushions with Halos rock!

If I was going to have a ring like that, I would have leon mege make it. If not leon, victor canera. Check out their work, it’s amazing!
edit: google “leon mege cushion halo” and check out all the results from pricescope.com.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was checking out Leon Mege & he has EXACTLY the style I am looking for. I requested a quote so we shall see if it’s remotely in our price range. Do you have any idea what a ring of his (just the setting) can run you?

@Lissygrrl: it depends. He’s more expensive than your typical jeweler but he’s incredibly talented and I think his prices are very fair for what you get: a hand forged amazing quality piece of art. Which style did you request a quote for? For something with a lot of pave, I think you can expect to spend 5-10k on the setting. But I know he works with budgets and will try to help you get what you want. For example, if you like a 3 sided pave design, you could compromise with single sided pave. You could also request quotes from victor canera and Steven kirsch. They do similar work, though leon is my favorite!

@sommertime: that’s a beauty! Love it. The ring that I requested a quote on looks just like the one in the picture above That I posted although it sounds to me like I’m not going to be able to afford it. I am really looking to spend between $2000 and $3000 for the setting itself because the diamond I want is so expensive. I will check out Steven Kirsch & see what I can find.

Mine is a cushion halo with a round center diamond. It’s only 1.01ct in the center (1.55ctw). It’s not exact but it might give you some ideas

@Lissygrrl: you should head over to pricescope and start a thread there. They might know where you can get a setting like that for 3k or less. With that amount and style of pave it won’t be easy but probably possible. Actually, check diamonds by Lauren. I think I’ve seen semi mounts there for around 3k.
Edit: check out this semi-mount

it doesn’t have as much pave as a leon ring, but is still gorgeous

BlondeMissMolly: you are GOOD!!! These look great! i definitely would consider these… Especially the 2nd one. You guys definitely know way more about this stuff than I do. Is this a good company to order from? I found amotring halo that I love-It sort of has a octagon shape.

That setting is so beautiful and I *love* asscher cut diamonds–so classy!

These Bel Dia rings can be modified for any center stone…maybe worth checking out (it’s where my fiance and I bought all of our rings). The ring can be found here: http://www.debebians.com/princess-cut-engagement-ring-with-halo.html
They also accept custom price quotes here: http://www.debebians.com/custom-made-engagement-rings.html so it might be worth a shot to request a price quote also.
Wherever you get the setting, I’m sure it will be gorgeous! Good luck!

Check out Victor Canera. His rings are works of art. A little on the pricier side (don’t be surprised if the setting is $5K) but it’s worth contacting him. He’s received a ton of great reviews.
