I am looking for a seamstress to make a custom dress very similar to the Christos Julianna. I live in northwestern Ohio, but my mother lives in Pittsburgh and a seamstress in that area would work as well. One with lots of experience in bridal gowns would be a plus!
Does anyone know an affordable place to have a custom gown made near those areas?

Having had a bad experience with a seamstress, but still decided to have my wedding dress made, I think the best thing to do is maybe to get the seamstress you are most likely to hire, to make you a top. From cheap material, nothing fancy, but it will give you a good idea if she can actually do it well.
I was a bm in my brother’s wedding, and a fortnight before the wedding was the final fitting. The dress was pretty much finished, and fit me fine. Snug in the chest, loose through the waist.
Wedding day? Could barely breathe, the dress was so tight in the chest. It flattened my boobs completely, so my shape was terrible. By comparison, I could’ve been 6 months pregnant under it, the waist was so loose.
Oh, and, it was the hottest day of the year!!!
I was breathing shallow all day co I was afraid of busting the zip. I was first out of a dress that day! It got the bin the next day. Awful experience, it ruined the whole day for me. Just choose carefully!

We got my daughters dress at Leontina Gowns/mybigfatbeautifulwedding.com. It is a replica of the Amsale Tyler dress from the hangover. If you don’t mind working online or even making a trip to Michigan, then this company is wonderful. The have a ton of dresses on their website so you can actually see their work. The dress you love looks pretty doeable to me. I love the beaded capped sleeves on that gown by the way!
If you decide to contact them, ask for Janet, she is the owner and head designer for them so that way you’re not just talking to a customer service rep. hope this helps.
