I seemingly miraculously stumbled upon the Sears’ wedding dresses. Turns out, they aren’t by Sears, but Sears has a “marketplace” where anyone can post things to sell- kind of like amazon. There are lots and lots of wedding dresses here! Including many I have my eye on (my wedding is about a year away… i have time to narrow it down 🙂 ) at half the price as listed on the designer’s site (in my case, Alfred Angelo).
Has anyone ordered their dress through Sears? If it’s true, it looks like I could save a lot of money this way. I’m skeptical because they even use the exact same pictures as on the Alfred Angelo site. Is that legal?

This is a chinese replica, when I see shipping via DHL that is usually a key to that. No, it is prob not legal, and IMO you should report it to AA.

@tksjewelry: Yup agree…notice how the sears logo for the website isn’t even the same as the real sears logo? looks to me like they are using the sears reputation to make you think this site and these dresses are reputable too!

al i can say is thank goodness for the bees above–i would have never noticed the fake sears logo either.

Actually it is the legit sears website. Sorry guys not a fake!
It actaully says they use UPS and their contact info is within the USA. The DHL is for internatinal shipping which is quite common (as in I can order and they will deleiver it to me in Australia).

This site is weird, not like http://www.sears.com

@j_jaye: So I think you are right and it is run through sears, but these dresses are still replicas. It’s like ebay or Amazon. Any one can post. If you read the dress descriptions if you order a rush shipping, they will supposedly make your dress in 15 days? and the seller is uimobile not sears, or alfred angelo or any other legit designer.

@Peony007: It is the same site (if you look at http). it is just a different section (the marketplace) which allows manufacturers to driectly market their products.

It can’t be a fake because the link in the OP is from sears.com…

SEARS the department store is CANADIAN so it’s called
This is NOT Sears the department store and neither will anything endiing with .uk or .org or .au etc…

I don’t know that Sears would have so many typos in the product description. Seems to me like it’s a knockoff dress site that got linked to Sears. It is a “marketplace item” under “UiMobile”, which I did find independently by going to http://www.sears.com and doing a search, but the typos and poor English have me thinking tksjewelry and Utopia4us are correct. Fake!

@happyface: Well see that make sense now. I was under the assumption that sears was a US company. Thank you for highlighting that. So it is definately a fake then.
Edit to say- I take everything I said int his post back. On the sears website posted by @happyface they have a link to the OP’s site! So I guess it is legit. It is right down the bottom under customer service

Sears is not a Canadian company. It’s US. In the US the site is sears.com
When I clicked on the link it was a redirect.

I think we’re sort of missing the point here… Yup the site is real, just like amazon and eBay are real. Those dresses are replicas though. If you want a replica, that’s great! But if you don’t, don’t buy one from this site just because it says sears and you think it must be reputable!
