So…I have a question for you ladies. I bought my wedding dress at a sample sale a month ago. We were originally planning a spring wedding in the afternoon. Things have changed a little and we are getting very close to booking our venue for January 15th at night.
Now I’m starting to doubt my dress will be appropriate for the season. I don’t really like any poof and I really love the antique look of beaded lace. My dress totally fits the bill as it’s a sheath style with beaded lace.
So, what do you think? Should I stick with my dress or look into dresses that are a heavier fabric/more wintery feel? Here’s a pic of my current dress.

I think it will be just fine. Your dress is beautiful!

What a gorgeous dress! I think with a little (faux) fur it will be perfect for the season.

I think you should wear whatever you like best, but even so, I wouldn’t look at that dress and be like… wow, that is so not a winter dress. If you’re worried about actually being cold maybe get a bolero or something.

I didn’t get any seasonal implications from looking at your dress. I think lace and beading is appropriate all year round. It’s a beautiful dress—if you love it, stick with it!

I think it’s beautiful! My wedding is Jan. 8, 2011 and my dress doesn’t have much poof, it’s lace as well. It’s Maggie Sottero’s Harlow if you want to look at the style. I think the most important thing is that YOU are comfortable, once people see that you’re comfortable even if your dress shouted “I’m Spring! I’m Spring!” people would forget and just look at how beautiful you are! It’s a gorgeous dress and if you love it, THAT is what’s important! 😀

Your dress looks beautiful! I would say go with a fur shrug or something if you want, but it looks beautiful just the way it is!

I don’t generally get seasonal vibes from dresses, and I think this dress would be appropriate for any season, but I think it will be stunning in the winter with the lace and embellishments! You should see Mrs. Champagne for winter wedding cover up ideas! (Beautiful dress, you will look amazing!)

I think this dress works great for winter. Then again, I live in HI and I don’t know THAT much about winter clothes…but I have lived in MI and spend winter breaks in CA for the past few years. But yeah I’ve seen pics of brides w/ lace dresses in the winter and I think it’s fine! Beautiful dress, you look great in it!

Thank you so much for your ideas. I’ve been look at faux fur wraps and boleros on ebay and found a few that I like. Plus, they aren’t too expensive!
